Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our finances is part of our worship. We believe that as christians we are not called to selfishly acrue personal wealth and possessions, but to steward God's resources well and model generosity because christ called us to.
Giving is also a physical act that helps us to die to our materialistic nature and put God first in our finances. The bible talks about cheerfully giving God our “firstfruits” (2 Cor 9:7, Prov 3:9), And so we ask our members to give, not out of any obligation, but gladly sacrificing ourselves for the sake of the gospel because Jesus sacrificed himself for us.
