ABOUT US
In October 2002 God spoke to Duncan and Jill about planting a church in North West London.
The seeds of a new church
God planted the seeds of a new church when Duncan prayed over a map of London and saw there were no Newfrontiers Churches in north London. In October 2002 God spoke to Duncan and Jill and the Newfrontiers apostolic team for London and the Elders of Queens Road Church in Wimbledon where Duncan and Jill had been serving for the last 14 years about planting a church in North West London.
The team
In the autumn of 2003 God gathered together a team (including Duncan and Jill and their family) of 17 adults & 5 kids from Newfrontiers Churches in and around London who moved to the Borough of Barnet to be the initial core of a new church!
The Launch
Newfrontiers mobilise conference.
After a week of practically serving the local community, running kids clubs, delivering 1000's of leaflets to homes and praying for people, Northwest publicly kicked of on 11th April 2004 - Easter Sunday, meeting in the Watling Community Centre in Burnt Oak.
The Name
We wanted a name that was straightforward, clear and not religious. Northwest Church is here for north west London – so that's the name we chose!
Part of Newfrontiers
In the late 1970's a few churches on the South Coast began gathering to Terry Virgo's apostolic leadership to help them open churches to the Holy Spirit. Now there are 250 Newfrontiers churches in the UK and over churches 600 internationally. Northwest church is part of the Newfrontiers family of churches together on a mission to extend the kingdom of God throughout the world!
